Cravings. We all get them.

We all feel crap when we give into them.

And yet, we find ourselves in the same place of shame and loathing time and time again.

We see it as a failing of willpower (when actually willpower is the biggest pile of shit we’ve ever been sold).

The Cravings Clinic is here to change all of this. No more shame. No more guilt.

This isn’t going to be your usual approach to cravings - I’m not going to tell you to just go and ‘brush your teeth’, or ‘drink a glass of water’ when a craving hits.

We’re going to be going MUCH deeper than this.

We’ll be looking at the science, we’ll be exploring what different cravings mean, we’ll look at ways to eat to reduce cravings, AND, most importantly we’ll be learning how to lean into the craving, how to sit with it and listen to what it has to tell us.

The Cravings Clinic is the accumulation of many years of working with clients who have struggled with cravings.

I noticed early on that willpower and trying to push the craving away simply weren’t cutting it. In fact, this just leads to a never-ending vicious cycle of shame and self-loathing (which ironically usually leads to even MORE cravings!)

Cravings need a different approach - one that looks at the WHOLE picture.

One that moves away from demonisation and focuses on compassion and understanding.

One that is willing to explore them at a deeper level.

Which is exactly where The Cravings Clinic comes in.

  • The science behind cravings including the neurotransmitters and hormones behind cravings and how to use nutrition to hack these.

  • Introduction to the best way to eat to keep cravings at bay on a regular basis - the what and the how and the why of blood sugar balancing.

  • More nourishing swaps and alternatives including my go to recipes for those moments when your brain is screaming ‘CHOCOLATE!!!!’

  • What common cravings mean. (Did you know a craving for salty crisps could mean your adrenals need some love?)

  • The role that sleep, hydration, gut health, movement, highly processed foods and stress can have on our cravings.

  • Cravings and the menstrual cycle and how we can use the cycle to radically change our relationship with cravings.

  • How differentiating between the different types of hunger can help us understand our cravings better .

  • The wisdom contained in cravings .

  • Why the diet industry demonised cravings and how it made us lose trust in our own body’s signals.

  • Why suppressing the craving just makes things worse.

We will feed our inner science geeks with all the biochemical understanding behind cravings.

We will learn about how balancing your blood sugar is a brilliant way to eat to reduce cravings.

Most approaches stop there, but we'll go deeper.

We’ll explore the emotional component to cravings.

We’ll look at how labelling food as ‘good’ or bad’ only leads to more cravings!

We’’ll uncover the wisdom behind cravings (yes, they really do contain wisdom!)

And I’ll also share with you some surprising techniques to help you navigate your cravings. (Spoiler alert - have you ever allowed yourself to give voice to your craving?)
